In a NUCLEAR WORLD every act can decide the fate of the universe. That’s assuming some intelligent life out there will mourn our loss. To put a nuclear reactor on or near a fault line is as insane as it gets wouldn’t you think? Yet, if enough businessmen get enough scientists to talk to enough politicians it gets done. We have them in California. Hard to get a straight answer about how much of an earthquake they can take. And if there’s a tsunami don’t worry because we don’t get the same kind as Japan. The experts are praising Japan for how well they are handling the situation. Hey only 3 potential meltdowns right now. In general, I still want to know where are you going to put it? Where, with the talk of continuing to create more facilities, are you going to put the spent fuel? You call this clean? Every reactor even if it is not on a fault line is another chance for a disaster of epic proportions. For a scientist to get on TV and say “no one ever envisioned that there’d be an earthquake of this magnitude in this region” is the most pathetic instance of mass blindness I can think of (although we all know of others). So later San Diego. Later L.A. I always thought you were shallow anyway. If you think I’m already off the deep end then you should stop here. Some lunatics and some self described scholars of the Mayan calendar have said that March 9th 2011 was the beginning of the new calendar Others give a couple of other often quoted dates. It depends on the calendar you use to predict the next calendar. They did sync it up with a scary event. Who knows, maybe they used the Farmer’s Almanac. My heart goes out to everyone affected in Japan. I leave you where I began, with a concept from the Kaballah. “Every moment, every deed, can be the crucial, final one, deciding the fate of the universe.” –Joseph Dan from “Kaballah–A Very Short Introduction” (p. 79)
